I think a lot of us find it incredibly hard to stick our head above the parapet and push against the status quo - especially if that dominant character doesn’t cope with challenges well.

This often connects to how our parents coped with us exploring and expressing our real selves.

The power of friendships. Something central in the work I do with young people. Thank you for this incite, useful to hear the adult perspective. I have to admit I read this and am now curious about some of my friendship. Thank you for the reminder that friendships deserve time and energy and communication is key.

And Thankyou - I’ve just re-read it from that slightly different perspective of a young person and how pivotal social groups are at this life-stage. Dramas & ostracising can feel devastating and direct life-choices & courses.

I can imagine you don’t want to get into deep analytical territory – but helping someone to just think about the part they are playing in an group dynamic, and where that might come from could be really supportively useful! 🤩
