Wow Jo, i totally relate to this! A combination of nostalgia, plus pure reluctance to go into town to buy new stuff, plus the fact that, if you wait long enough and get out some old “unworn-for-a-few-years” faves , they feel and look right, make some hoarding worthwhile…..!

Yep, I agree…. But I struggle with the line between something still having life in it and being completely trashed and worn out! That’s where nostalgia gets in the way…..

Holding onto our youth ?! 🥲

I absolutely have the same problem with getting rid of beloved clothes or shoes as they take me back to a time often in my much younger days. I had a friend who could easily declutter and anything not worn much over the last 6 months she gave to charity. On one occasion she helped me sort through my wardrobe but I had to retrieve a favourite pair of jeans from the black bag when she wasn’t looking! However, if a charity bag comes through the door I will now attempt to fill it.

I’d imagine we’ve all revisited the pile to go and taken something back… I have!

I've cleared two hoarders houses in the past year and it's cured me of clinging on to anything! It goes to charity and I buy from charity - sometimes treating myself with new lovely stuff... 👀 Your new trainers

For many years my fantasy job was to be a declutterer… there were a couple of TV series where therapists helped people let go of stuff. Hoarding’s such a complex thing but so fascinating!
